The Athletic Department would like to announce the hiring of Christine Walsh as the new Head Women’s Volleyball Coach.
Walsh takes over after serving as an assistant coach at last fall under former coach Shelby Sayre. The Vikings finished the 2010 season with an 11-10 overall record, an eight-game improvement from the previous year.
“Christine is a talented coach that has seen early success in our volleyball program. She is a person of high character who is dedicated to the program and will work hard to take our team to the next level,” said Director of Athletics Kristan Pelletier.
A Westchester native, Walsh moved to Dallas at a young age where she played volleyball all throughout high school. She played her freshman year of college at Union before transferring to Southern Methodist University in Dallas, where she graduated with a B.A. degree in psychology. Walsh just finished her first season with the Iroquois-Empire Volleyball Association league under USA Volleyball, where she is also certified as an R1 and scorekeeper.
Walsh currently works as a Project Coordinator at an engineering and environmental consulting company in Clifton Park.
